Product Details

Haskell is a slightly cocoon-shaped cardigan bequeathing comfort to its wearer whether lounging or knocking about through cottage garden paths. An expanse of shifting broken rib surrounds panels of beaded cables for texture that is a delight to knit in pillowy Quarry — and all the more fascinating to watch as shadows are cast over the interplay of knits and purls giving the appearance of woven tweed from afar. Trimmed by garter stitch at the hem, yoke, and shaped collar, Haskell is the epitome of a knitterly hug.

This cardigan is worked flat, in pieces, from the bottom up, then sewn together. The shoulders are shaped with short rows (Wrap & Turn Method) and joined with the Joinery Bind Off. After the sides are seamed, the garter stitch hem is picked up and worked flat from the cast-on edge. The collar is picked up and worked flat after garment assembly; short rows (Wrap & Turn Method) are used for shaping. Optional patch pockets are knit separately and sewn on. The textured and cabled motifs are worked from charts only.
